Sanctuary in Japan bans entry to foreigners for misconduct of Koreans

Guía amenaza a sacerdote de santuario (Twitter)

Tourists can be a blessing as great sources of income, but also a plague.

A shrine in Nakagasaki has decided to ban foreign tourists from entering its precincts due to the misbehavior of South Korean visitors, reveals the SoraNewssite24.

What have they done, according to the chief priest of the Watatsumi Shrine?

The priest has turned to Twitter to explain the reasons that have pushed him to make the radical decision.

The Koreans have stolen talismans from the shrine. They have engraved their names on sacred wooden boards. They have sat on the side of the street to eat on land that is considered part of the sanctuary.

A youtuber filmed the inside of Watatsumi and visitors without permission.

Guides are another big problem. They have been warned not to stand on the steps of a worship hall, but they do not listen. In the days of many visits the shrine staff had to approach about 40 guides to warn them.

In addition, the guides stopped at the various entrances of the shrine to explain details of the site to the group of tourists they were in charge, and sometimes took up to 20 minutes, blocking the passage to other visitors.

The situation reached such an extreme that once a guide to whom the priest issued a warning told him that he would strangle him and die, as seen in the images. (International Press)
