The general secretary of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, Toshihiro Nikai, led a delegation of more than a thousand people who visited Vietnam to strengthen ties between the two countries.
Nikai met with Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and the two agreed to expand the number of Vietnamese workers in Japan, Jiji Press reported.
They also agreed to cooperate to keep abusive companies exploiting young Vietnamese exploiting remote, taking advantage of their vulnerability.
The Vietnamese prime minister stressed that the large Japanese delegation, which included local government officials and business representatives, is a reflection of the strategic partnership between the two countries in a wide range of areas.
For his part, Nikai said his country plans to invite 150 Vietnamese students to Japan over the next five years to promote youth exchange. (International Press)
