Japan seeks Interpol help to stop Ghosn's wife

Japan has asked Interpol to issue a search warrant for Carlos Ghosn's wife.

Japanese authorities are seeking Carole Ghosn's arrest through Interpol, according to Sources from Kyodo.

Carole Ghosn is in Lebanon with her husband.

A few days ago, the Tokyo Prosecutor's Office issued a warrant for the woman's arrest for perjury.

In April 2019, Carole testified before a court that she did not know a person with which she had exchanged messages, according to the prosecutor's office.

The woman said she did not know was an executive of an Omani distributor to which a Nissan subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates sent a total of $10 million for Ghosn management.

Of that amount, the aforementioned executive transferred $5 million to a Lebanese firm, a transitional stop, as the money was eventually sent to a Carole-owned company.

Ghosn's wife, according to the prosecution, maintained communications with the executive to have their versions of the case matched. (International Press)
