31,880,000 foreigners visited Japan in 2019, a record in Asian national history.

In the seventh consecutive year, it was recorded at all times by the country's Asian, notes Kyodo, which collected the figures from the Ministry of Tourism in Japan.

However, the quantity may be higher. Since January 8 last year, the number of South Koreans who travel to Japan has dropped more than two digits each month due to tensions between Japan and South Korea on conflicts dating back to the first half of the 20th century.

The reduction in demand is very powerful that some airlines had to cancel or suspend flights connecting the two countries.

Thus, the goal of the government reaches 40 million foreign tourists by 2020 that looks like a Chimera.

JTB tourism agency estimates that this year Japan will receive a visit from 34.3 million tourists.

Before the dispute between Japan and Korea escalated, South Korea accounted for about 20% of foreign tourists.

On the other hand, the successful rugby League of Japan last year has contributed to the rise of Russian and British tourists.

In addition, there are many tourists from Asian countries, such as China, thanks to loosening the Visa restrictions and increasing international flights to and from Japan. (International press)
